About this restaurant

Cafe #2 is one of Dilijan’s most loved public spaces and a popular meeting point for locals, tourists, and expats. Founded in 2016, it became the region’s first social initiative of its kind — a youth and community café combining hospitality with youth development and community engagement.

Cafe #2 provides local teenagers and young people aged 14+ with an opportunity to gain their first work experience, develop professional, communication, and teamwork skills, and become actively involved in community life.

The initiative grew out of the broader vision of Ruben Vardanyan and Veronika Zonabend to ensure that the establishment of UWC Dilijan would contribute not only to education, but also to the wider development of Dilijan and its community.

Through its initiatives, Cafe #2 contributes to youth empowerment, stronger community connections, and the development of Dilijan’s hospitality sector.

Cafe #2 was established in 2016 by the IDeA Foundation and Dilijan Development Foundation, with the support of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies.
